Dear Parents and Guardians:
Happy Thanksgiving! As you prepare for the long holiday weekend. I hope you take a moment to reflect on the amazing and unpredictable journey you have been on. The sacrifices you have made are significant and while your routine has been disrupted, frequently at times, you have persevered to make the best out of the tumult caused by a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic. As a District, we are grateful for your partnership on this twisty road.
This year, it is imperative and essential that during the holiday we adhere to Department of Public Health guidance and travel restrictions. By doing your part, especially now, we keep our teaching staff and faculty safe. The professionals who have selflessly met the challenges of the pandemic should have confidence that families are following the rules and not placing someone unnecessarily in the position to catch the virus. Thank you in advance for supporting the culture of safety!
Today’s letter announcing COVID (+) cases will be the last letter. Starting after Thanksgiving, positive cases will be reported via a dashboard on the District’s website. We are confident this methodology of sharing the data makes the information readily available to all families and the public. A separate communication about the dashboard will be sent on Monday, November 30, 2020.
I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday!
Sincerely,
Hamlet M. Hernandez
Superintendent of Schools
