Dear BHS Families,
This morning, BHS students in grades 9 through 12 participated in their first SPIRIT day activity. As previously highlighted, SPIRIT is a curriculum that focuses on the development of six competencies (Social/Emotional Learning, Personal Involvement, Integrity, Resilience, Independent Learning, and Transition) over the course of a student's four years at BHS. These competencies will help better prepare our students to succeed in an interdependent, global society.
Today, grade 9 students focused on respect for self, others and communities. Grade 10 focused on empathy. Grade 11 and 12 focused on the development of their post secondary portfolio, which included looking into the future. In the coming weeks, students will be asked to share and discuss some of the experiences they have had around these attributes. We encourage families to continue the SPIRIT dialogue at home and in their communities.
Go Hornets!
