August 2022

Hello BHS families,

On Tuesday, BHS leadership, student ambassadors, and staff got a head start on the school year and welcomed the incoming Class of 2026 for their orientation with the theme “We are Hornets.”  The message to the incoming class was that they are now Hornets and part of a very special community. We also issued students a challenge to start thinking about how they will take part in keeping BHS a place in which all are welcome.

Branford High School takes on that same challenge and looks forward to welcoming our students back on Thursday, September 1 for our first day of school. Please remember doors at BHS open at 7:00am with the bell for the first period of the day at 7:25am.  Students are expected to be in their classrooms no later than 7:30am.  There will be congestion the first few days so please allow yourself extra time if you are not taking school transportation.

As we continue to work together to build a school that is safe, supportive, and responsive for all students, we look forward to our continued conversations with BHS families. We hope you are able to join us for the first Virtual Chat with incoming Freshman parents/guardians on Monday, August 29 or the Virtual Chat with Sophomore, Junior, and Senior parents/guardians on Tuesday, August 30.  Both Virtual Chats will take place from 6:00-7:00 pm through a Google Meet.  Our traditional BHS Back to School Night will be held in-person on Thursday, September 22.

We look forward to seeing all our BHS students again on Thursday, September 1.  As always, please contact your building administrator or school counselor with questions that may need a more immediate answer.
