Important Update from the Superintendent of Schools - Update #14

May 1, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As we complete another week of BPS Flex Learning, thank you for your commitment as partners in the education of your child during this remarkable time in our history. In our quest to continuously improve, we particularly appreciate the feedback many of you have provided on the flex learning satisfaction survey. The link is below for those of you who have not yet had time to weigh in. Please make your voice heard before the survey closes at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, May 9th.

During this difficult time, many households may be experiencing hardships due to the loss of a job or income.  The CSDE is asking districts to remind all parents/guardians that they may be eligible for SNAP benefits. SNAP helps people buy food for themselves and their families. Additionally, eligibility for SNAP benefits means that a child will be directly certified for free meals, which will carry over for 30 operating days into the next school year.

Finally, a reminder that no flex learning Fridays return next week. Please continue to monitor our website for updates regarding the length of our current school closure and other COVID-19 related updates.

Best wishes for a safe and healthy weekend,

Hamlet M. Hernandez
