Dear Parents and Guardians,
This year is shaping up to be like none other and it is imperative that we approach the start of school with a realistic expectation. I appreciate your tireless effort during the changes we have had to make due to COVID 19. As we move into the first full week of school you can expect to experience some delays during arrival and dismissal as we transition to new procedures. The adjustment to the new version of school life requires patience and an acceptance that new structures and practices come with imperfections. We thank you for the incredible effort you are making to support the hybrid model.
It is our intention to create a culture of safety in the days and weeks ahead. Should your child not feel well in the morning please do not send them to school. By following this basic principle, you and your child contribute to a culture of safety that is critical for in-person instruction. However, and although not popular to state, it is very possible the District will have a positive COVID-19 case. If this occurs, the District will respond appropriately and work closely with our local Health Department to ensure the safety of our learning community.
The 2020-2021 school year indeed looks to be exceptional. As the year progresses, we will share an experience profoundly influencing your child’s future. We should hope that someday today’s students reflect on the pandemic and arrive at the conclusion that the adults in their life were wise, resilient, caring and committed to staying safe while moving forward.
